Diana’s Beginning Serger Threading and Tension Instruction. March 24, 2026, 5:30-7:30pm; This class is $30. Students per teacher is low to give you the best opportunity to learn.

This class is for the sergers that are NOT air-threaders OR automatic tensions. This class teaches you how to thread a serger and learn how to set the tension. Please make sure before class that your serger is in good working condition prior to class.

What to bring to class: The accessories that came with your machine. If you are unsure or if you purchased a used machine that didn’t come with anything, come in days ahead of class with your serger to give us time to get you what you will need for class. You will need: Your instruction manual, the needle screws that hold the needles tight, small screwdriver, tweezers, cleaning brush with needle inserter, your larger screwdriver, thread nets for synthetic thread that tend to fall of the spool, an Allen wrench, the foam disc that sit under your thread, spool caps to go on top of your thread and the threading wire for the loopers.

Bring 4 spools of Good Quality Serger Thread—PLEASE do not bring or ever purchase the $1 a spool serger thread—it is very poor quality. Bring these colors of thread: 1-Black, 1-white,1- tan and 1-gray. Yes, four different colors. Then 2 spools of Wooly Nylon thread and a fat quarter of fabric to match. Bring a pen and paper to take notes. Bring a pair of scissors, a couple of clips, pins and a ruler. Gather your supplies before class please. 10% discount on anyone taking a class that buys supplies for the class.

Remember that not every serger is going to be the same brand, model or age. Patience is key to a great class.  It is very important to arrive 30 MINUTES before class to set up, get refreshed and be ready to begin class with everyone else to keep everyone happy.
